Ethical Code

In the year 2001, ALEP adopted an ethical code, which was established from the SLP (Luxembourg Psychological Society). It was inspired in its structure and content by the meta-code on ethics of the European Federation of Psychologists’ Associations (EFPA).

On the right: Gilles Michaux (president of the SLP)

The aim is to provide guidance for resolving ethical dilemmas or value conflicts encountered by professional psychologists in practice (psychotherapy, diagnosis etc.) and research.
Another aspect is that, the subjects (or patients) with whom the psychologists interact, should be protected if the psychologist follows the ethical code. This should be an guarantee, that psychological services have an high quality.

“Ethik ist Grenzenlose erweiterte Verantwortung gegenüber allem, was lebt” (Albert Schweizer). Membership in ALEP implies commitment to ethical reflections in compliance with the standards of the ethical code.
